Celebrating Women in Wellness: Honoring Heritage and Healing
Share
The wellness space is evolving beautifully, with Black and Brown women leading the way in self-care, holistic health, and cultural beauty traditions. At Doctor Coily, we are excited to launch our March blog series, Women in Wellness, which will highlight the inspiring voices, brands, and practices that uplift our communities throughout the month.
Honoring Heritage with the Heritage Collection
To begin this series, we are proud to introduce the Heritage Collection, launching on March 3, 2025. This collection is deeply personal to our founder, Dr. Sanlaré Gordon, as it pays tribute to the women who shaped her life. Each product reflects a legacy of love and care:
- Henrietta Rose Oil & Henrietta Rose Body Butter, inspired by her maternal grandmother’s nurturing spirit.
- Ruby Rose Rose Water, named after her great-grandmother, who valued natural beauty rituals.
These products go beyond skincare—they celebrate heritage and self-love through time-honored beauty practices.
The Importance of Wellness for Black and Brown Women
Wellness spaces have not always been inclusive of our needs. From the lack of representation in research to the exclusion of natural, culturally significant remedies, our voices have often been overlooked. But now, we are taking charge of our health and well-being.
Today, Black and Brown women are leading conversations around mental health, holistic beauty, and self-care. We deserve products and practices that nourish and uplift us—inside and out.
Celebrating Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, making it the perfect time to spotlight the trailblazers in wellness. Throughout this series, we will feature Black and Brown women who are redefining health, beauty, and self-care. From herbalists and nutritionists to beauty entrepreneurs and mental health advocates, we will share their inspiring stories and impact.
At Doctor Coily, we believe wellness is more than a trend—it’s a movement. Join us as we celebrate the women shaping the future of holistic health. Stay tuned for our next post, where we highlight a wellness pioneer making waves in the industry.
